The Market Development department for Thompson Okanagan Tourism ensures that the most exciting and innovative marketing programs and initiatives are made available to our stakeholders in order to compete as a world-class tourism destination. It consists of three main areas of expertise: North American marketing activities, International marketing activities, and stakeholder marketing product sales activities.

Key objectives of Market Development are:

  • To increase leisure travel in our targeted markets through consumer marketing programs
  • To increase international exposure of the region and connect export ready product with wholesale buyers through our travel trade programs
  • To increase market awareness of the Thompson Okanagan as a preferred destination and strengthen the profile of the region through our media relations programs
  • To increase opportunities for stakeholders to participate in qualified marketing initiatives
