In late January, TOTA International Marketing Experiences Specialist Howard Grieve hosted Australian travel writer and blogger Ben Groundwater during his stop in our region.

On his recent trip through B.C., Groundwater visited Whistler, Sun Peaks Resort and overnighted in Kamloops before hopping the Via Rail train to Jasper. He works for Fairfax Media in Australia. The Fairfax stable of publications includes the Sun Herald weekly newspaper and Men's Style bi-monthly magazine, and Groundwater was writing stories for both during on his visit here. He also has a blog that he muses in – at www.smh.com.au/travel/blog/the-backpacker.

Groundwater is an experienced travel writer, blogger and author – having recently penned the book Five Ways to Carry a Goat, an account of his four-month trip around the world. He has visited more than 60 countries.

Groundwater's media pieces back home will enhance Tourism BC's online media marketing activities in Australia, helping to to maintain the status of BC ski areas as the leading Canadian and North American ski desinations for Australians.
