Sparkling Hill Resort Announces ‘Lift Off” With Eagle Pass Heliskiing

February 15, 2011 Vernon, B.C. - At 9:05 today Sparkling Hill Resort celebrated the inaugural flight from the resort helicopter landing zone to the nearby Monashee Mountains for resort guests who have booked a day experience skiing and riding with Eagle Pass Heliskiing.

Guests of Sparkling Hill Resort looking to add some adrenaline to their vacation can book private, custom packages, or single day skiing from the resort with Eagle Pass Heliskiing. The terrain Eagle Pass uses for Heliskiing is a mere 15 minute flight from Sparkling Hill Resort. Unique to Heliskiing is a long awaited opportunity for Heliskiing guests to bring spouses along on their ski vacation who can use the full service spa and amenities or enjoy nearby Silver Star Mountain Resort. Guests also have the option of being picked up via helicopter from Kelowna International Airport to help ease travelling logistics. Eagle Pass Heliskiing commitment is to ski everyday regardless of weather or flying conditions. If the weather is bad a shuttle service to nearby Silver Star Mountain Resort will take guests to ski and when the weather clears; the helicopter will simply pick them up and head into “Eagle Pass country” for skiing. This is high adventure in the midst of the Monashee Mountains where the champagne snow falls and tree skiing is legendary.

Guests of Eagle Pass can expect the utmost in safety and service. Bell 407, helicopters will fly in groups of 4 or 8 skiers. They will be met by professionally certified ski guides with extensive Heliskiing experience who will provide local knowledge and training. The training is thorough with the latest in avalanche rescue equipment, updated helicopter safety, and avalanche awareness. All guests will have the use of avalanche transceivers, rescue equipment, personal radios, and „Snow Pulse‟ avalanche flotation devices. Specially selected powder skis and poles to maximize the ski experience will be assigned to each skier. A hearty lunch and après ski snacks are provided during the ski day.

Upon returning to Sparkling Hill after a day‟s “hard work” floating down mountains on fresh champagne powder the reward is long soaks in the hot pools, steam or sauna all perfect for soothing tried muscles. Good food and additional champagne make the perfect day.

Guests of Sparkling Hill will have complete access to all KurSpa amenities, that include 7 uniquely themed steam and sauna rooms, indoor pool complete with underwater music and starry Swarovski Crystal sky, hot pool, outdoor infinity pool, Kneipp water therapy, and Serenity relaxation room. Kur Spa treatments can be booked from an al carte menu of treatments including couples massage for two or a visit to the first Cryotherapy cold sauna in North America.
