Damaged Section of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail to be Decommissioned
In November 2021, heavy rainfall damaged sections of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail (KVRT) along the 67-kilometre section of recreational rail trail between Princeton and the Coquihalla Highway. This section has been closed since 2021.
The Government of BC has announced that this section of the trail will soon be decommissioned to ensure public safety, with an alternative route planned to bypass this segment to allow people to experience other segments of the trail.
This project is slated to begin in spring 2026.
