The Biosphere Commitment Program is a sustainability program created by the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association to equip tourism businesses in the Thompson Okanagan with the necessary tools and resources to continuously measure, manage, and report sustainability management efforts by aligning ongoing and future business operations with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Thompson Okanagan destination certification to prepare businesses for a globally recognized certification. By accessing the Biosphere Sustainability Management Software, organizations can create customized sustainability plans and utilize dedicated support from industry experts.
The program is an extension of the Thompson Okanagan region's Biosphere Destination Certification. This is a collaborative industry initiative that supports tourism organizations while they engage in sustainable management practices.
