There is upcoming recruitment event in Kelowna and a Wage Subsidy for Francophone and bilingual newcomers, both offered by the SDE BC. This event may help to fill staffing gaps in June or bolster recruitment efforts for next winter.
Bilingual Job Fair Kelowna - June 22 2023
Employers from the Thompson Okanagan area will have the opportunity to connect with qualified bilingual immigrants who are eligible to work in Canada and wish to settle permanently in the local job market. This Bilingual Job Fair will be hybrid, with 12-minutes interviews with candidates profiles matching the skills required to fulfill the positions.

Structured mentorship and Canadian experience program for Francophone and bilingual newcomers
The Structured 16 week Mentoring & Canadian Work Experience program provides a salary subsidy to BC employers hiring eligible candidates looking for their first Canadian work experience in their field of competencies and willing to implement our mentoring program.
Eligibility Criteria
This program is intended for employers in BC with at least two years of existence
They must be willing to hire French-speaking or bilingual candidates in French and English
The position for which companies recruit must be full-time, lasting at least 6 months, and fall within categories 0, A or B of the National Occupational Classification
The employer also has the task of designating a mentor within his organization to follow up with the hired candidate.
