Notice of TOTA 2026 AGM & Board Director Election

 

Please save the date for the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Summit on October 7th and 8th in Kamloops at the Coast Kamloops Conference Centre, located on the unceded, traditional territory of the Secwépemc People.

Registration information will be available shortly.

Leading up to the AGM, TOTA members will vote online to elect directors to serve on the Board for the 2027-2028 term. The Call for Director Nominations will commence August 7. 

5 directors are moving into the second year of their 2-year term. 

There are 9 board positions available.

7 current directors have indicated their intention to seek another term.

Call for Nominations

On behalf of the TOTA Board of Directors, voting members of the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) are invited to participate in shaping the future of tourism in our region by standing for election or nominating a qualified candidate to serve on the TOTA Board of Directors.

Successful candidates will serve a two-year board director term beginning October 7, 2026, through to the 2028 Annual General Meeting.

This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a Board that provides strategic oversight to one of Canada’s leading regional destination management organizations, recognized internationally for its commitment to sustainability, Indigenous engagement, and destination stewardship.

Directors represent the diverse communities and tourism stakeholders of the Thompson Okanagan, and help guide our shared journey toward a resilient, responsible visitor economy.

Voting members are eligible to put a name forward as a candidate in the election. Candidates must submit their information and secure signatures from 4 voting stakeholders - see details below.

  3. 3. Submit the candidate information form and receive 4 eligible nominations by 11:59 pm, Friday, August 28, 2026.
